Foundation Review | NARS Sheer Glow

Although my skin can be quite oily, I find that sometimes a mattifying foundation can make my skin look flat and lifeless. I also think that it can make my makeup look cakey and as if I were wearing too much. That was when I thought that it was about time I tried a dewy foundation, and hence the NARS Sheer Glow fell into my hands. I have the shade Siberia for reference. It is a bit light on me, but I would rather bronze it up, than have a foundation that is too dark for me.
Now, I wish I had the pump for the bottle as I really dislike pouring the foundation on to my hand because I feel as though I'm wasting the product, or putting too much on. So I recommend you get the pump along with it. And to the actual product. I find the sheer glow quite a creamy yet thick foundation that does not dry your skin out at all. Neither does it cling to dry patches. It does not need much work to buff into the skin, and sits on the skin very nicely, but you don't notice the 'glow' aspect until you have worn it for a few hours or so.
I found that after walking to University that my face was in fact glowing. I had never seen my skin look so fabulous. I felt radiant. To apply, I take my Real Techniques Buffing Brush to polish it on to my skin, go in with my preferred concealer, and then take a tiny bit of loose powder over my t-zone just to keep it in place where I am most oily. I find this to be my favourite way to apply the foundation. I'm glad that the fact that the Sheer Glow is actually not sheer at all as I have scarred skin so need the coverage!
The foundation is at a really good price of £30 for a 30ml bottle, so you get quite a lot of product for what you pay. It also lasts really well throughout the day. I tend to have a few 9-5 days, and find that the base is still on my skin by the time I have arrived home. Which is a huge plus side for me! The only huge downside to the NARS Sheer Glow is that it does not come with a pump, so have to buy one for £3 separately - and that's if they have it in stock! Other than that, it is a beautiful product, and I cannot fault it in any way. A sturdy glass bottle, which is very unlikely to break (unless you are super clumsy!). A great foundation for all skin types, and a winner in my books.

What are your opinions of the NARS Sheer Glow foundation?

  1. I've been meaning to give this foundation a try. It sounds fantastic, but annoying that it doesn't come with a pump. The Revlon foundations that I love and always use don't come with a pump either and while it's annoying, I think I've gotten used to it.
